So recently I’ve been fascinated by the father/son relationship and how many similarities there are between our relationship with God. I love being a father (on most days), I love that Austin has so much security in my presence. In his eyes there is nothing that can go wrong if daddy is around. I just laid him down for a nap and it’s been a rough day so far. As soon as I walked out of the room he went ballistic and crawled out of bed bawling his eyes out. So I laid down next to his crib on the floor where he could see me and he just laid there knowing that everything is fine since daddy was there.

Man if we could just grasp the concept that the Holy Spirit is present with us everywhere we go and in everything we do how much different would our actions and thoughts be?

Check out these verses:

1John 3:1- See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.

Gal 4:6-7- Because we are sons we can cry out Daddy and we are no longer slaves but sons and because we are sons, we are heir w/ Christ

Not only these, but just think about what you would do for your own son

1. Austin is secure in my presence
2. There is nothing Austin could ever do that I won’t forgive
3. I will always love Austin without condition or regard
4. I will always be approachable to Austin no matter where I am or what I’m doing
5. I will always be willing to give Austin what he needs or desires

And all these things God does a million times more intense- What a God we have and what an awesome relationship we have with Him- Maybe you should say thanks?

So I’m sure some of you by now are asking what’s our status and when are we returning? How are things going with the medical situation? and how big is Austin now?

Well in a nutshell, Cris is doing awesome. Recovering perfectly and continually working on things that our doctor pointed out as problem areas. Right now doing some physical therapy for some muscles in her back and shoulders that were really causing some problems.

When are we returning? Still undecided. I promised Crystal that we would be here until she is confident she can return to Mexico without knowing how to handle her situation. We’re looking at being home in January, but I want to stress that she is better before we even plan on returning.

How big is Austin? Dude he is getting huge! The boy has got to have doubled his size since we’ve been back here. His physical size and the size of his attitude also.

Sorry for my delay in communication recently, been busy, been doing a lot of thinking, reading and dreaming. God’s been so good to us in the past days.

Simple thought for you-

How has God blessed you in spite of who you are and what you’ve done the past rather than because of who you are? Think about Matt5.45 which says that God makes the sun to shine on both the just and the unjust. What a merciful God that He would love us like that.
