This morning Cris had her first doctor appointment here in Zacatecas. One thing we are learning is that not only are things much different from the States but they are very different from what we had in Costa Rica as well. We were very blessed with what we had in CR. We had one of the best hospitals in Latin America, a great OBGYN that spoke English and understood our situation and doctors and hospitals that accepted cards rather than just cash.
So back to this mornings appointment. The doctor was good, thorough and friendly, but we still constantly found ourselves comparing it to our awesome doctor in CR. Ah well you just can’t have everything.
The doctor did an ultra-sound to find the size of the cyst she has, the one that was causing so much trouble during our conference in Dallas. When I left I went to pay the bill. They charged me a whopping, $28.00 for the appointment and ultrasound. Incredible! Thank God for that because the last thing we needed right now was another costly medical situation. The doctor is confident that this cyst is going to disappear and in regard to our greatest concern, yes Crystal will be able to have another little one. Hopefully this year!!!

After 5 days of driving, exhaustion, fast food, and about 1700 miles, we are finally home. It was a long trip to say the least. Austin is so tired of riding in his car seat and I think our truck may be tired of being a missionary vehicle- 20,000 miles since we purchased it last August. Thank God for His provision.

It’s been a while since i have had opportunity to do any updating here. These last four weeks have been horrendously busy for us, but they have been so full of blessing. We have been encouraged, challenged, refreshed, and blessed above all.
Our first meeting was in Shreveport, LA at a church that partnered with us nearly a year ago without even meeting us. They have been faithful supporters since day one and are a phenomenal church in the area of world-wide evangelism. They truly go above and beyond the call of their duty. Awesome church and we can’t wait to be apart of their conference again the future.
Conference number two was in a suburb of Atlanta with a church that is associated with our mission in a great deal. A very giving church and very encouraging. Thanks to them we will hopefully be producing some great videos over the next years with their purchase of our new video editing software. We will use these avenues to hopefully reach and challenge young people in the area of missions.
Conference number three was a whirlwind. We were in these two conferences in the same week. From Saturday through Tuesday night in Atlanta, Wednesday morning flying to Dallas and starting again with Wednesday night through Sunday. It was a crazy busy week but well worth it. Thursday we took a detour from their schedule for a visit to one of their finest local medical facilities to find the cause of the severe pain Cris was enduring. We found two more cysts making their presence known in her body. She is still dealing with this pain. We are praying and faithfully depending on God to deal with the issue. We will check up on it once we get back to Mexico next week.
Friday of this conference was my highlight. They took us guys to the Texas Motor Speedway for a tour of the track and lunch at the speedway club. It was awesome being that I am a super nascar enthusiast. I really enjoyed it.
By the time we flew back to Atlanta Monday we were wasted and we are grateful to have all three behind us.
I have mentioned many times before about the importance of these three meetings with what God had put on our hearts. Between Cris and I we had 17 opportunities to speak to various venues during these three conferences and prayerfully we will see God work and provide teammates, teams and fellow mission workers in the years to come. God is awesome to allow us these opportunities to one raise more monthly support and two encourage/challenge people in the area of where they will serve God with their lives.
Thanks for your prayers.

I’ve been thinking about this big God idea for a long time now. I’ve mentioned several times about our recent conferences and the ideas that God gave me to speak to these churches about. If you’ve read our blog you know how God worked in those meetings and thank you again for your prayers for that.
I’m reading Breakthrough Prayer by Jim Cymbala, pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle in Brooklyn, NY. A phenomenal pastor and writer and in this particular book he challenges to trust God to do God sized things.
One particular story he mentioned in his book referred back to the book of Judges chapter 4. The story of Deborah and Barak. Yes Barak is in the Bible, but not the Obama.
Deborah was the only woman to rule during the time of the Judges and she was a great one. She came with her message that God had given her to give to Barak that He was once again going to save His people out of the hands of evil nations and He would use Barak to do so. Barak was a timid man and asked that whatever that was going to be done Deborah go with him- woos.
In verse 14 of this chapter she says this to Barak as an encouragement- “Arise! For this is the day in which the LORD has given Sisera into your hands; behold, the LORD has gone out before you.”
Can you say “Wow!” Now that spoke to me right there. Barak didn’t have to do anything but follow where God lead him. God was ahead of him and with him at the same time. Ahead of him preparing the way, and with him empowering Barak to do what God was going to do.
I have mentioned to you over the past months how God has pointed us to the fact that He is about to do something just awesome in Zacatecas, the city, the state, and hopefully the country. I believe Him with all my heart and because of that I pray daily that He will come and show Himself strong on behalf of the Mexican people.
I believe God has gone before us. I believe God is with us. And I believe that He is about to do a God-Sized worked that we can only dream about.
Will you pray with me? And more personally, what part will you have in this God-Sized work?

On our way home to Zacatecas we drove through Houston where we usually spend the night. Just outside the city on our drive in we hit a wall of traffic that would not move. I thought alright construction/accident typical traffic jam situation. O no! This was the big one. Like the Nascar big one they always talk about. We never actually saw the accident. I guess it was so bad that they completely cleared it from the highway before they allowed traffic to continue. We ended up being stuck in that jam for nearly 3 hours! How fun is that! Not so much, let me tell you.
Austin was getting so antsy to just get out of the car, eventually we just shut down right there and got out. Austin and I walk around, talked to some other drivers and Cris and Austin tried to get some of the truck drivers to honk their horns. Evidently they didn’t think it was a good idea, honking the horn while stuck in a traffic jam. Probably a good thing.
