Consulate update

We went to the consulate this morning, and we are glad that we did. We didn’t walk away with what we wanted but it was very insightful and we know more of what we need to do before we are able to get the visa we need to actually be missionaries in Mexico. It looks as though we will have to move there on a tourist visa and get our residential visa later on. Not exactly what we wanted, but it will work. The reason it’s not exactly what we want is because a tourist visa does not allow us to take anything with us. We are allowed to take only clothes and $75 worth of household goods. Not exactly a well furnished house to say the least, but it will get us started. Thankfully the Lord has provided nearly all of our outgoing fund to be able to purchase household goods in Mexico. We’ll see what the Lord works out with all of that.

So that’s that.

Dallas, Tx

This weekend we are at an awesome missions church in north Dallas. So far we have been blown away at the way they have taken care of us and have emphasized missions in a way that everybody can relate to. We were a little nervous about being in  a missions conference because it’s been so long since we have been in one, but this one is one for the books. They have promised our support and that is huge when thinking about the support we need to raise.

We move to Mexico in just one month, so we will be going there still under-supported, but God knows that and we will be taken care of just fine.

Check out Crystal’s new deputation outfit! Doesn’t she look great?!

One month and counting

We are just one month away from our move to Mexico. Can you believe that!? We sure can’t and it’s beginning to get scary! We have so much to do in just one month, it’s going to be a miracle if it all gets accomplished.

Tomorrow we head to the Mexican Embassy here in Dallas to talk about what we need to get done for our visa. Pray that it goes well. We really need it to be very informative and helpful to us getting what we need. We have heard that it can be quite a trial.

We’ll let you know how it goes, but we really covet your prayers.

Fun times on the road

Before we had Austin when we traveled, we just drove from one place to the other. We would drive up to 800 miles in a day to get to where we needed to go in the country. Now that we have Austin it’s a much different story. He doesn’t allow that to say the least! Nor should he.

Last week during our travels we got to stop at a part on the way and he loved it.

On the way home from North Texas we stopped in Liberal, KS at the famous Air Museum. Crystal wants to decorate his room in an airplane theme and wanted to get some good pictures of old planes, so we got to do that and let Austin crawl around for a while.

Temple Baptist Church-Cont

So it’s Sunday night and we have just finished a long day of ministry at this great missions church. They started the day by standing up and welcoming the missionary heros to their midst today. Let me just say one thing- we certainly don’t feel like missionary heros, but they sure treated us like them.

I forgot to put our projector in the car yesterday morning so we had to go without our video presentation this morning so that was a bummer but it all went well without it. Cris and I do this tag team testimony/ministry talk and she did awesome this morning, which is huge being that she hasn’t felt well since we left Saturday morning. I’m really proud of her for sticking with it and doing her best. She has the missionary face down to a T.

Tonight I was able to preach for the first time in months and it was awesome. I was so excited about it and was anxious to see God use me to speak to His people again. I can’t wait to do it again next week at our next meeting in Dallas.

Austin did a great job too. This is obviously our first support raising meeting with Austin along with us. The nursery was a little much for him this morning, so we pulled him out and just hung on to him, but other than that, he was a real trooper.

All in all, it feels great to be back ministering to churches again spreading the awesome news of Jesus Christ and helping people be aware of what God is doing and going to do in Zacatecas. We can’t wait to get there and start working.
