Encouragement

My apologies for the lack in content recently. I’ve been super busy working on some stuff for the next few weeks. This morning as I sat down to clear my head and beg God for His power on me to get through the day, He reminded me of Ephesians 3:20 . I don’t know about you, but I struggle quite frequently with confidence. Do I have what it takes to do this? Do I have the endurance to get through it? I don’t know that my confidence issue will ever go away, but what I do know is that as long as I have willingness, God has power and if I can stand up in front of that crowd, He will be the One empowering me to do what I never could in the first place.

What’s God want for you that’s beyond your ability? Rest in Him, He can do it, but you can’t. He will empower you to do what you could never do. NOW GO OUT AND DO SOMETHING

Crisis of belief 3#

Final thought today. If you’re going to get through this crisis of belief no matter how great or how small it is, you’ve got to trust God completely with it. Another verse that God recently brought to my mind was Romans 8.28. If we allow Him to, God is going to receive all the glory through whatever your situation is. In thinking about this verse, I thought you know it says that all things will work together for good but what it doesn’t say is for whose good all things are working together for. I mean think about it, all things didn’t work together for the good of Peter when he was nailed upside down to a cross for failing to turn from his faith. But what it did work together for good was for the glory of God. He received immense glory through Peter’s faith and His kingdom was advanced. You know in the end it may very well work together for your good, you may come through your crisis and God will bless just like He did to Job when he walked through such an intense fire. The bible says that God blessed Job with twice what he had before. Either way you’ve got to make a decision, why are you in this? Is it really worth the fight? and If you start the fight will you be able to finish it?

Crisis of belief #2

2) You’ve got to walk by faith. I know this sounds cliche, but it’s reality. Someone once told me never undo in doubt what you did by faith. Going back to the calling part, if you are sure of your calling, when the doubts come you will having something to fall back on. Something the Lord brought to my mind recently was Psalm 119:105 which says Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. In thinking about that verse when you’re walking a night needing a lamp, a lamp would only light a few feet in front of you. If you follow the light it will keep you on the path, but you will not know when the next turn comes, where the edge falls off into a shear cliff or even when your just going to walk straight for a while through a meadow. If you’re going to get through this crisis of belief, you’ve got to determine that God’s got your back and that He’s going to build His kingdom, that might require you to endure some pain, but in the end He’s going to receive the glory from it.

Stick with it, walk by faith.

John Maxwell

“Success is a word that is greatly misunderstood and we need to grasp what it means biblically to be a success- to love God with all our heart, our mind , our soul, and our strength; to allow Him to unlock the imprisoned potential to settle for second best when we realize that God gave everything He could give so that we could have the very best of life; and to realize that one of the greatest sins we commit against God is not reaching the potential He has place in us.” (Be all you can be- John Maxwell Pg 36)

Crazy thought but God wants us to be successful and even joyful. I think we often times look for those things in the wrong places. Joy doesn’t come by your location or circumstances or money and luxury (although they help =). That’s why you can find some people who have been locked in prison for years who are the most joyful fulfilled people you will ever meet.

I started reading this book by John Maxwell on Friday and he adds that we need to seek three things to be successful and joyful.

  1. We need to remain in Him. John 15:4
  2. We need to receive from Him. As we abide in Him, He begins to give us direction, fruitful living
  3. We need to reproduce. “If we remain in Him, we’re going to receive what He has for us, then and only then will we begin to reproduce in our lives.” (Pg20)

Quick quote

My wonderful wife, knowing I was having a rough day, sent me this quote

Pursuing your dreams is a grand insult to those who haven’t pursued
their own. You can tell, because people who have not accomplished
something always criticize harsher than those who have.
– John Acuff

If people are criticizing you, don’t lash back at them, that will just cause you to lose friendships. My thought is try to help them understand your dream, lower your shoulder and push harder to make it a reality. Never give up what you believe in because of criticism.
