Today we pray: God I can’t wait till you come back to get me.
Hebrews 11:13- “Each one of these people of faith died not yet having in hand what was promised, but still believing. How did they do it? They saw it way off in the distance, waved their greeting, and accepted the fact that they were transients in this world.” Obviously we’re jumping into the middle of a thought here so let me explain. The person who wrote the book of Hebrews and specifically these awesome chapter is writing about some incredible people who lived and died. He’s writing about the amazing acts of faith they displayed while they lived on the earth and that the reason they had the faith to do so much was because they understood the promise of what God was going to do in the future.
Today we have this mentality that if life sucks there is nothing we can do about it but wish we had a different or better life, but that’s so not the case. God has you where you are for a specific purpose that will bring honor to him, so as you are going through your life, your day- Thank God that although your circumstances might not be perfect they way you think they should be, one day he’s going to come back to get you and take you to a much better place. This verse in Hebrews says that they died believing that something better was coming. If we could all live in the moment but with an eye on eternity- that Jesus Christ is coming back one day to get you and all you’ve got to do is honor him today, wow, what a different mentality we would have in church. So God, I can’t wait till you come get me, but until them, help me honor you.

Today we pray: Help me live today as if you were right by my side
We would do things so differently if we lived with the thought that Jesus was standing right there with us. Think about it. Constantly I hear the phrase, “I’m struggling with________” you fill in the blank. Now I’m not saying it’s wrong to deal with things or to “struggle” but how much different would your struggle be if you know that Jesus Christ was standing right beside you cheering you on, telling you “Listen dude, you’ve got this, and even when you feel like you don’t, I’ll help you.”
How much different would your “struggles” be with the sin in your life if you knew that Jesus was there looking over your shoulder telling you, don’t do that, it’s going to make you hurt, you’ll walk away with guilt”.
Today I pray you realize that when you accept Christ, He’s with you always, his is your strength, he is your motivation even when you feel you have none.
God, help me realize you are with me always, giving me strength when I have none, helping me determine right from wrong. Help me to live today like you’re always with me.

Today we pray: God there are so many things in life that try to take my focus away from you, help me to keep focused today on what you want for my life
Recently God has been working into my heart the importance of repentance. Isaiah 6 is a story where Isaiah remembers a devastating time in his life, when the king died. It shook him to the core of who he was probably because he had a close relationship with the king. During this time he had a vision where he was in the presence of God and the first thing that he realizes is how sinful he is. Isaiah 6.5- “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” Whenever we look at all that God is we find how sinful and unworthy we are and it drives us to the place of repentance. Today spend some time in God’s presence and allow him to bring you the place where you realize how great he is and how sinful we are.

Today we pray: God I’m sorry for the way I’ve blown it in my life, please forgive me for those things, and help me to live the way you want me to live.
Matthew 6:12- Forgive us for doing wrong
There’s not a day that goes by that we don’t fail God in some way. We are desperate for God’s grace and goodness every single day and thank God that he is constantly willing to give us his continued grace. One of my favorite verses is Lamantations 3.22-23- Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I love the thought everyday we get fresh mercy because God loves us that much.

Today we pray: God our mission today in United is to make you look amazing, I pray that you would do your best work in the hearts of those who need you so bad today.
I am captivated right now with who God is and what he wants to do through his church. Today is just another opportunity to unite together and be a part of a movement that has existed for centuries and will endure forever. There is no greater thing than seeing God at work, just read through the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and you’ll see how great the work of Jesus was in the lives of people. Now take that up a notch, John 14.12- the things that he did while on earth, we’ll do more. Join with me United, lets beg God to do incredible things in the lives of people around us that need God. With that determination, with the passion that we are going to pursue the heart of God and lost people- we’ll see God to greater things. The best is yet to come.
